A few months ago I borrowed an SH-101 for a week or so and recorded this. The synth is pretty badly damaged. The saw wave doesnt work (hence the square wave name). The tuning is hit-and-miss. The lfo goes at a snail's pace. All the sliders are scratchy. The cutoff makes the synth go silent if it goes near the top 10% of its range. Two dead keys. I could go on.
This track is a couple of layers recorded live in single takes into cubase using a volca keys to sync it to midi where needed via the trigger in. The pad is from impOSCar2. The delay on the 101 is a behringer echo machine pedal.
I wrote the beats first to lay out the progression. Then i played each individual part separately... I didnt use the sequencer, but i did manage to get the arpeggiator in time with cubase (volca keys sync jack) so I recorded a layer using that :)
